Who we are

A School Built for Students

A friendly Maplewood academy where children and grown-ups discover the joy of art — lesson by lesson.

How we began

Two drawing rooms and a big idea

Crayonvale opened in 2012 with a pair of drawing rooms and one conviction: lessons ought to be the highlight of a child's week. Today our Maplewood home welcomes hundreds of pupils studying drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, and illustration.

Each course pairs a performing artist with individual or small-group attention, visible goals every term, and two cheerful exhibitions a year where families witness the growth.

Why parents pick us

Serious Progress, Playful Lessons

Mentors, not lecturers

Each teacher performs professionally and trains specially in working with children — calm, upbeat, and endlessly inventive.

Roadmaps per pupil

Children learn differently, so plans flex around age, tempo, and taste — from graded classics to beloved chart hits.

Curiosity is welcome

Newcomers can explore two different mediums across their opening month before choosing — questions encouraged.

Beyond weekly lessons

Exhibitions, Bands & New Friends

Between regular lessons, pupils join seasonal groups, winter and spring exhibitions, and neighborhood performances at the Maplewood library. Stepping on stage early — greeted by warm applause — keeps our students playing for years.
